In honor of Earth Day, Betco^® is excited to announce that we are kicking off a transition from 5-gallon pails to new 5-gallon bag-in-box packaging! As the name suggests, the new Betco bag-in-box consists of a strong plastic bag seated inside a corrugated box. It features an easy flow spigot and 2-piece box packaging for extra durability.

2. In Canada, Daily Disinfectant Dual has received a 2-minute COVID-19 claim from Health Canada for use against SARS-CoV-2 on hard, nonporous surfaces in 2 minutes. Betco^® is proud to announce that Doug Sheldon has joined the Senior Management and Operations Teams as Chief Operations Officer. In his new role, he will work with President Brad Betz and other company executives to implement Betco’s strategic vision and values, as well as lead the Operations Team, consisting of sourcing, human resources, quality, customer service, inventory, safety, and plant operations.

Doug joins Betco after over 30 years of experience at a chemical company and most recently leading a biotechnology manufacturing company. He received his undergraduate degree from the University of Michigan in Chemical Engineering and also completed a graduate degree in Business Administration and Management.

“I look forward to leading the Operations Team and leveraging my past experiences to continue to push Betco in the right direction,” Doug said. “I have really enjoyed learning all aspects of how the organization functions as a whole, and meeting everyone who is responsible for keeping Betco safe, efficient, and profitable.”

As we enter the new year, Betco^® would like to announce several promotions and role changes within the Marketing Team.

Barrett Betz, Vice President of Brand Marketing, will assume the leadership role for marketing as Vice President of Marketing. “I am excited and humbled by the opportunity to lead and strengthen such an important piece of the Betco organization fabric, and look forward to the continued success ahead for our team, and company as a whole.”

Reporting to Barrett, Kyle Strait, Vice President of Product Management, will assume a new role as Vice President of Product Commercialization. He will be responsible for new product launches, product ideation, and market/competitive research strategies.

Scott Brown, Vice President of Training and Category Development, will also report to Barrett and will lead the Product Management Team as Vice President of Product Management and Training. He will also continue to lead Betco’s training assets.

Barry Rosenthal, Technical Services Representative, will report to Scott as Senior Product Manager for disinfectants and general cleaners.

As the Omicron variant spreads and reenergizes COVID-19 transmission prevention efforts, Betco^® disinfectants continue to receive enhanced claims that promote public health and safety. The EPA recently approved a 1-minute kill claim against the virus that causes COVID-19 for AF79 Concentrate (primary registration). Betco is in the process of adding this to our label for the acid-free restroom disinfectant. 

While many disinfectants are included on List N due to efficacy against a similar human coronavirus or harder-to-kill pathogen, the EPA has now added AF79 Concentrate due to its scientifically proven efficacy against the isolated SARS-CoV-2 virus in only 60 seconds. The rigorous testing supporting this claim was conducted in approved labs.

In addition to killing SARS-CoV-2, AF79 Concentrate also:

He leads the IT team and is responsible for the overall IT strategy, functions, services, and digital transformation. Dan comes to Betco after serving 16 years at a Standard and Poor’s 500 company, where he was vice president and responsible for all IT services. Dan led the Robotics Process Automation program and development of the company’s proprietary Asset Management system.

As a Toledo native, Dan received his Bachelor of Computer Science and Engineering from the University of Toledo. He is a former varsity basketball referee who now enjoys watching his children cheer, dance, and play sports. Welcome to Betco, Dan!
